Community Resource Fair 2007
I wanted to provide each of you with a brief overview of Crosspoint's Inaugural Community Resource Fair that was held on April 21, 2007.
Fifteen community service providers sent representatives to meet with Crosspoint clients and family  members to assist them in their transition to independent living from our residential programs. Approximately 100 clients and family members took advantage of the opportunity to meet with and receive information from the community agencies that sent volunteer representatives to this five-hour event.
The community organizations represented included SAC, UTSA, G.I. Forum, Alcoholics Anonymous, Bexar County Detention Ministries, Michelle Mathis RN, Goodwill Industries, Health & Human Services, Food Bank, Consumer Credit Counseling, HEB Pharmacy, Carelink, Central Med, Renhill Staffing Services, and the Attorney General's Office. These organizations provided information regarding their roles in assisting our residents in their quest for community reintegration, self management and full restoration of citizenship.
The fair was hosted by by Madison Square Presbyterian Church. Door prizes, food and children's activities were provided. Given the success of this inaugural event, Crosspoint intends to hold the Community Resource Fair annually.
